Pitman
Brief History

In the future I want to breed back to my old bitch Misty who was as game as they come and of the stamp that I favour. She was shatter marked which would be the only thing I want to breed away from. After following advice I will have my “home strain” which will be my Mo x Taz bitch and I will take the other line in a different direction to bring back in later.  Oakfield kennels will have related stock to mine and I will have related stock to his so we will be keeping an eye on each others dogs and pulling dogs and matings back from each other if the need arises. That is the bitches taken care of now for the dogs…

There are two Scrummy x Misty bred stud dogs locally – Pitman’s Tiger and Pitman’s Scud which I may use in the future if need be.  Also I have my 16 month old dog Co who is a Scrummy x Belle bitch mated to Remlap Smudge then put back over a Scrummy x Belle bitch (an Aunty/Nephew mating).

For more information email Pitman Kennels.

The Pitman kennel of plummer terriers was established in 1998 when I got Hermitage Scrummy – (Sonatal Nailor x Welsh Tara).   A month later I got a bitch NPG Misty (NPG Jed x Welsh Fidra).  Another year later I got another bitch Wyremead Belle (Elgin Luca x Olympian Sariel).  After about 2 years I moved into my own home and Scrummy and Misty came with me.  I still have Scrummy and I now have a line bred dog from him and Belle named Brimar Co bred by my Dad.

My plans for the future

I am currently waiting for pups from a Scrummy x Misty daughter (Pitman’s Mo) mated to Remlap Taz at Pond Mawr. I finally decided on this stud dog as the old remlap stuff is renowned for their working ability – perhaps a tad fiery but with Mo not having seen much work it was a chance worth taking to add a bit of fire back in (Misty was also a fiery bitch). He is also a small compact size and does not have much rocky blood in him, nearly all other plummers available today have a heavy Rocky influence.  He does have some of Rocky’s brother Rupert in him.

Mo was put to Irlam Scamp and produced Red, who is a rich red colour and caped. I am not expecting the Remlap mating to produced pups as tidy as her (if she does it will be a bonus!) – the coat and markings may suffer but this will be worth it in the bigger scheme of things, and can be bred away from later.

Also I have recently acquired ia pup from Oakfield kennels (Stonyford China x Wyremead Zorro). These two bitches will form the basis for me to continue my line if and when I decide to breed. The two bitches are as far apart blood/breeding-wise as can be expected considering today’s blood lines.
