The Ratpacks....

| The Saxon Ratcatchers |
The eldest of our plummer terrier bitches at 5 years old,
and the largest, Ellie makes an ideal catch dog, she always
manages to be in the right place at the right time. She does
mark well, but prefers to place herself where she thinks she
is likely to get the prize catch.
Not a plummer, Dottie is the eldest of all our terriers, now
7 years old, a JRT whose mother was a ratting dog. Dottie
loves nothing better than a days ratting and always puts her
heart and soul into it.
A recent addition to our pack, we recently inherited Bear. He
has soon picked it up and is ratting very well, he marks well
and considering his inexperience, he rarely misses bolting rats. |
Rosie's nose is something very special, making her the perfect
marking dog, because her nose is more often than not below
soil she doesnt always make the bolting catches the others
do, but she is the most important part of the ratting team.
Most of her catches are as rats are being dug out.
This dog has a very high prey drive, she is very small (12")
and gets to places where some of the larger dogs can't. For
her size she is lightening fast. |
A daughter of Daisy above, Lily coming up to a year old, is
fast learning the ratting game, she's now making catches of
her own, marking and is becoming a valued member of the team.
A daughter of Rosie, still only a young pup and not yet met
any rats Petal will soon be out with us learning the trade.
We hope she will have inherited her mother's excellent nose.
